Revamp membership registration process for improved efficiency

Vision: We will streamline our membership registration process, so it is simple, transparent and enhances increased accountability.

Discussion: We currently have over 7 methods of payment for membership registration. While at the surface it seems like a good idea for SOBANS, it has created significant accounting and accountability issues throughout our administration. It has created some inefficiencies that has frustrated SOBANS who were, for example, questioned if, how, and when they paid their dues because we did not have appropriate records. In addition to this, it is highly unprofessional for national dues to be paid into the personal bank account of the treasurer. We need more accountability and professionalism.

Action items: We will streamline the payment process so that all dues paid to SOBA America are immediately and automatically deposited into the SOBA America account. We will create a consistent renewal notification system so SOBANS are constantly reminded of their membership dues obligation way in advance of the December 31st deadline, and they will be able to pay directly. They will continue to have the option of paying through their chapter presidents, online, through the new SOBA America App or PayPal. We will also implement a Cash App option that is linked directly to the SOBA America account.  The administration will work closely with chapter presidents to help coordinate the registration of their members.
