Implement new operational structure for NEC and NLT

Vision: We will create and implement a more efficient NLT and NEC operational structure to ensure accountability.

Discussion: There has been challenges with getting adequate participation of NEC members at NEC meetings. Part of this is likely due to schedule challenges, and partly because NEC meetings have not been on a fixed schedule. There will also be expectations of NEC members to be involved in the execution of some of the administration’s initiatives, such as selection of scholarship recipients in the Lend A Hand initiative.

Action items: The Fote administration will
(a) Establish a permanent/regular meeting calendar for the NLT and NEC at the beginning of the administration so it is easier for members to participate.
(b) Establish a standard reporting structure and expectations for chapter presidents, committee chairs etc. for NEC meetings.
(c) Establish expectations of chapter presidents to convey NEC decisions/updates to their chapter members on a routine basis so all SOBANS are constantly updated with information.
(d) Establish a requirement for NEC members to attend the mandatory NEC meeting at the SOBA America mini-convention or make a minimum financial donation to the host chapter if they cannot attend.
(e) Establish a standard reporting structure for the NLT members at the regularly scheduled NLT meetings.
