Global leadership and respect for SOBA America: (1) Play leadership role in global SOBA community

B:  Foster strong relationships with other regional SOBA chapters, Cameroonian alumni associations and cultural groups.

Vision: We will foster strong relationships and partnerships with other regional SOBA chapters.

Discussion: As SOBANS, we all belong to a special group. We are our brother’s keeper. It is important, therefore, that SOBA America maintain strong relationships with other regional SOBA chapters. We also need to be involved in our community and maintain strong relationships with other sister alumni associations and cultural groups from Cameroon in the diaspora.

Action items: The Fote administration will continue the current Itoe administration’s policy of working with SOBA regional chapters, other Cameroonian alumni and cultural associations in the diaspora to develop a strong relationship and cooperation on matters of mutual interest. We will support these associations and collaborate with them in areas where we have shared values and interests. The Fote administration will continue to call for a peaceful and lasting solution to the SOBA UK crisis. While remaining mindful of the sovereignty of SOBA UK, the administration will offer support to our brothers in the UK. We will offer mediation if there is a reasonable chance of achieving success, and if both factions welcome such an endeavor.
